Welcome to the 2024 Spring edition of UL Links, our University of Limerick magazine.

The UL Marketing and Communications team is proud to present a showcase of the remarkable achievements, pioneering research, and compelling stories emerging from our beautiful campus in Limerick.

Our first fully digital edition has a focus on the Future through the lens of UL’s sustainable and transformative research that is shaping the world of tomorrow.

From exploring the latest advancements in male fertility to showcasing our vision to become a regenerative university, our magazine is a major platform for highlighting how our university is tackling global challenges, bringing to you, all we do here at UL.

Within these digital pages, there is a rich tapestry of features and stories offering a glimpse into the diverse talents and passions that define our university community.

We are excited to introduce you to some of our diverse and dynamic students, who thrive not only in their academic pursuits, but also actively engage in sports, community involvement, volunteering, and mentorship. Likewise, we have engaging stories from our incredible community of Alumni – changemakers, now over 125,000 strong worldwide.

Curiosity is the engine of achievement and at UL, whether you are growing an idea from spark to market, transforming your future or asking the hard questions of the world – we are passionately curious.

This is just a sample of the myriad of stories that UL has to share and we want to tell them in a way that puts you, the reader, first. An added benefit of our fully digital approach allows us the opportunity to stay more closely linked to you with strong multimedia content.

Thank you to all who have contributed to UL Links, from the writers and researchers to editors Andrew Carey, Alan Owens, Emma Mullane and the wider UL Marketing and Communications team who have brought our vision to life.

The stories in UL Links are inspiring. They are the stories that represent what our community of the curious does every day in UL.

With the full contents list below, we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed putting it together for you.
